Many text counters treat a visible emoji as several characters, fail on languages without spaces, or hide their rules. TXT Metrics was rebuilt around user-perceived Unicode grapheme clusters and locale-aware segmentation.
Our principles
Each page solves a distinct task. Tools work without sign-up, external APIs, or uploading the text you provide. Estimates are labeled as estimates, and formulas are explained.
The exact rules and edge cases are published in the Unicode counting methodology, together with a downloadable test corpus.
What “private” means here
Your text is processed by JavaScript on your device. It is not placed in URLs, sent to analytics, stored in a database, or included in error reports.
