Method and limits

The first matching line keeps its place

This is stable deduplication: the first occurrence is retained and later matches are removed. It is useful for email lists, IDs, tags, imported records, and any list where the existing order matters.

Will Apple and apple be treated as duplicates?

Only when Ignore letter case is enabled. Otherwise they remain separate lines.

Are internal spaces changed?

No. Trimming removes surrounding whitespace only; it does not rewrite the content inside a line.
