Clear rules, private processing

Built to be useful, not mysterious.

The comparison uses a longest-common-subsequence diff. Options let you ignore letter case or surrounding whitespace without changing the original text.

  • Line-level diff
  • Added and removed highlights
  • Ignore case or whitespace
  • Local comparison

How to use this tool

A short, repeatable workflow.

  1. Paste the earlier version into Original.
  2. Paste the new version into Revised.
  3. Choose whether case or surrounding whitespace should be ignored.
  4. Read the summary and the highlighted added and removed lines.

Method and limits

Line-by-line comparison is deliberate

Line diffs are predictable for documents, lists, configuration, and copied table data. This tool does not claim a changed word is an entire document rewrite: unchanged lines remain visible, and the summary reports additions and removals separately.

Is either version uploaded?

No. Both texts and the diff stay in the browser.

Can it compare Word or PDF files?

Not directly. Copy their text into the editors; layout and non-text document features are outside this tool’s scope.
