Organize text

Sort lines online

Sort lines alphabetically, naturally, numerically, by length, or reverse their current order.

Clear rules, private processing

Built to be useful, not mysterious.

Natural sorting understands numbers inside text, so item 2 appears before item 10. Sorting is locale-aware and never uploads your list.

  • Natural number sorting
  • Numeric and length modes
  • Ascending or descending
  • Preserves line content

How to use this tool

A short, repeatable workflow.

  1. Paste the list with one value per line.
  2. Choose natural, alphabetical, numeric, length, or reverse order.
  3. Enable Descending when you need the highest or longest values first.
  4. Copy or download the sorted lines.

Method and limits

Choose natural sorting for labels that contain numbers

A basic alphabetical sort compares characters and can place Item 10 before Item 2. Natural sorting recognizes the numeric portion. Numeric mode is better when every line is itself a number, while length mode orders records by the number of characters.

Does sorting remove duplicate lines?

No. Every line is preserved. Use Remove Duplicate Lines first when you need a unique sorted list.

Does reverse mean descending?

Reverse flips the existing sequence. Descending applies to a chosen sorting rule; the two operations are not always equivalent.
